Car Rental includes:
1.Unlimited free mileage - with the exception in Punta Arenas where car rental for 1 day are restricted to 300km any addittional kms has an charge of chilean Pesos 191 per km.
2.CDW insurance(full coverage), with the exception of:
-Damage to tires when there is no accident or collision.
-Rentals from Punta Arenas or Coyhaique (BBA) all have a deductible of 20UF (approx.26 USD) plus tax (which is approx. US$ 800). Optional supplement CDW for rental from Punta Arenas costs US$ 28 per day/vehicle (only possible for Cat.C,D,L,F).
No optional suppl.CDW possible from Coyhaique (BBA). CDW with deductible do not cover damages of the windscreen when there is no accident or collision.
-when a 4x4 car or pick up overturns, without being involved in an accident with a third party, the deductible of UF 20 plus tax will be charged.
-when driving under the influence of alcohol.
when the driver was not indicated in the rental contract.
3. Local taxes (19%VAT).

Consider: Optional insurance can be contracted upon reception of car: PAI (Personal Accident Insurance / valid for two passengers ) USD 5, - per day valid for 2 passengers and SACA (Accessory) USD 4, - per day. Additional driver is free of charge, but has to be registered in rental contract.

Border Crossing to Argentina: Is possible starting at category "C" or higher at all mayor borders, if prior arrangements are taken. We need complete name, nationality, passport number upon reservation, no later than 14 days prior to rental. An additional obligatory international permission has to be taken:
From Apr 01 till Dec 31 2005:
Multiple border crossings between Chile and Argentina 1-15 days: USD 119 per vehicle.
Multiple border crossings between Chile and Argentina 15-30 days:USD 238 per vehicle.
From Jan 01 till Mar 31 2006:
Multiple border crossings between Chile and Argentina 1-15 days: USD 125 per vehicle.
Multiple border crossings between Chile and Argentina 15-30 days:USD 250 per vehicle.

Notes:
-In case of an accident outside Chile you have to take back the vehicle on your own costs to the nearest Hertz station in Chile.
-Pick-up trucks can be available with bagage covers (hard top covers are not available) to protect luggage if you request them upon booking.
-One-way rentals are only possible within Chilean territory (some exceptions can be arranged/quoted upon request!).
-Extra Fuel Tank: Only available for pick up (no charge) or in Areica for Jeeps Cat.E/F US$ 19.
-Extra Baby Seat: US$ 25 per renting period.
