Alerces National Park
A system of lakes linked by rivers that form dangerous rapids gives
this park a particular physiognomy. The centre of this system is Futalaufquen
Lake; towards the north of Esquel there are a number of other
lakes such as Cisne, Menendez, Rivadavia, Verde, Kuger & Stange,
Cholila and Puelo. The name of this National Park originated in the
“Fitzroya Cupressoides”, tree of a 2.5-metre diameter and about 3000

Trochita
20 km from the city is Nahuel Pan Station, where the train called
“Trochita” leads to Ingeniero Jacobacci. This is one of the few narrow-gauge
railways in the world that still runs across the deserted Patagonian
regions. There is a Mapuche Indian Reservation in Nahuel Pan which
can be visited to become acquainted with the Mapuches' life, mores

Trevelin
This welsh colony is located 23 km. from Esquel. Its name means “City
of the Mill” in Welsh abd is due to the first wheat mill that was
installed in this area. At present, there is a museum where the mill
